Primate Park Opening.

I shot the Primate Park opening the other day. It's a beautiful new exhibit. Primate park is in the spot where the old monkey island was, and they're rotating through several species of primates to display, including lemurs. I wish someone would compile an archive of old zoo photographs to compare the old zoo. It's changed so drastically in the last ten years.

Ned.

There is no way to make photos of this lizard interesting. All he does is sleep, bask, let crickets sleep on him and stare at me. I love him unconditionally because he looks like a little dinosaur. About ten times a day I pass by his terrarium and say "Oh my god! He's on the branch! He looks like a dinosaur!" (pretty much verbatim) whether or not I'm alone.

Birthday Weekend.

This weekend I turned 23 and I decided to celebrate it in NYC...

Taylor and I went to Governors Island for the free She & Him show...


After 6 hours my vision blacked out and I finally decided to eat something...

After burgers we went west to see the fireworks and promptly turned around...

I have absolutely no photos of fireworks but I have some awkward vendor photos...

On my actual birthday I sat in the park and watched a dog float for a while...

I took some obligatory park photos...

When Sara showed up I watched her play the Play Me I'm Yours piano...

Then we all headed into the park for cake, planes and people watching...

The next day I got the most perfect birthday present ever, I shot the She & Him concert...

She & Him.

Words cannot describe how amazing it is to shoot your favorite band. I was less than five feet away from them and at one point both Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward were towering over me. Honestly, there are no words.
